FINISHER I
Collings Guitars, one of the world's premier manufacturers of acoustic and electric guitars and mandolins is looking to hire an experienced finish professional at its new manufacturing facility in beautiful Austin, TX.

UTILIZING KNOWLEDGE OF FINISHES YOU WILL:
1. Smooth surfaces for finishing, using sandpaper or wet and dry paper sander;
2. Fill pores and seal wood;
3. Maintain paint booth equipment
4. Prep and apply finishes to new instruments to the specified color or finish;
5. Use spray guns to apply varnish, lacquer or polyester resin coatings to instruments;
6. Sand and buff finished bodies or necks;
7. Inspect job and repair all faults

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The minimum educational requirement is a HS diploma or GED certificate with two to four years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent hands and spray experience such as obtained in the automotive, furniture or other related industry is crucial.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend clear-cut instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to sand, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:
You should enjoy working to close tolerances. You should have the stamina to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and kneel. You can not be bothered by paint, lacquer, varnish, polyurethane and other similar odors. You should like to learn new things. You must have good manual dexterity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
You will work indoors. While you will be provided with adequate safety equipment and training, the nature of this position creates the potential to be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and chemical solvents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
