Each Collings electric guitar is built using a strict criterion for every piece of wood that will be used. Different densities of maple, mahogany, ash, alder, and variations of our laminate recipe will each ring differently and have a different acoustical response. When developing each electric model we go through a thorough R&D process to determine just what densities are needed to make each guitar sound its best. Once wood is selected, we rough out the contours of the neck and body in our mill and assemble each component by hand. Once assembled, each electric guitar is thoroughly hand sanded on every surface. Every body contour and neck profile is gone over under high contrast lighting to ensure a perfect shape and feel.
