002H 14-Fret

Overview

002H 14-FretAs our newest acoustic body size, the 00 14-Fret Series finds the sweet spot between a small-bodied and mid-sized instrument while bringing to the table a distinctive voice and character all its own. Upon picking up the guitar, it doesn't take more than a few strums to reveal a pleasing midrange resonance that distinguishes this size from other offerings. This fullness of tone is complemented by dry and articulate attack, with more low-end definition than you’d typically expect to find in an instrument of this size. The shorter 24 7/8” scale length combined with a relatively broad waist allows for a more delicate top-voicing, producing an openness that’s equally suited for accentuating subtle nuances as it is for digging in on single-note runs. All in all, the 00 14-fret is a highly versatile instrument that excels at a variety of playing styles from fingerstyle to strumming and anything in between.

Hand Voiced

From the starting point of the wood's density and rigidity, each acoustic guitar top is hand selected, evaluated, and graduated to its own unique thickness; maximizing the tonal potential of each top.

Premium Tonewoods

The pairing of Sikta spruce with a Honduran mahogany back and sides creates a guitar with crisp yet warm articulation and a beautiful tonal balance.

Midrange Depth

The 00 14-Fret models produce a pleasing midrange resonance that distinguishes them from other sizes, yet they retain exceptional balance and clarity across the tonal spectrum.

Solid Peghead

In contrast to the slotted headstock found on the 12-fret variation, the 14-fret 00 models feature a solid peghead for adding mass and a balanced feel.

Finish

By meticulously hand-sanding between coats, our nitrocellulose lacquer finishes measure between .005” and .007” in final thickness, maximizing acoustic response while providing excellent protection and aesthetics.

Scale Length

A short 24 7/8 inch scale creates a warm note attack and lower tension string feel that lends itself well to a variety of playing styles.

Precision Tuning

Premium Waverly open-gear tuners offer exceptional tuning stability and smooth reliable operation with a vintage aesthetic.

Tone You Can Feel

The combimation of carefully selected tonewoods, hand-voicing and our thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish results in a resonance that can be felt throughout the entire instrument.

  • Honduran Mahogany

Honduran mahogany is an exceptional tonewood that produces a punchy front-end attack and articulate nuanced tone. Compared to East Indian rosewood, which offers a deep, resonant sound, Honduran mahogany produces a dryer, more fundamental tone with a quick and accurate response.

  • Wenge
  • Walnut
  • European Maple

European maple is a beautiful figured wood that offers excellent projection and focus, which made it the tonewood of choice for many luthiers before the days of amplification. It's still a very valid tonewood today, and despite the misconception that maple guitars are overly bright, properly selected maple sets can produce deep, full sound with excellent articulation and clarity.

  • Koa

With its vibrant amber color and striking figure, Koa is a wonderful tonewood that has been used for stringed instruments for generations. Tonally, Koa finds a pleasing balance between warmth and clarity with a bright front-end attack and warm undertones, making it an ideal choice for fingerstyle and chord melodies.
