01 12-Fret T
01 12-Fret TOur acclaimed Traditional or “T-Series” guitars offer a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound with a tonality evocative of the best 1920's and 1930's era instruments. Each T-Series guitar is built using animal protein glue and a very thin, all nitrocellulose lacquer finish, making them exceptionally dynamic and responsive. Bracing and tone woods are carefully selected and adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection. To complete the package, all T-Series models include our original vintage-inspired Collings case that we've designed and build by hand in-house for an unrivaled level of quality, fit and aesthetic that enhances the experience of owning a fine instrument.
T-Series guitars are constructed of all solid woods that are acquired, acclimated, and hand selected by master luthiers here at our shop and joined using animal protein glue.
Each T-Series guitar features hand selected tone woods that are voiced to facilitate the warm rounded highs and present low mids that characterize the tonality of our Traditional series.
Ultra Thin Finish
The T-Series Nitrocellulose lacquer finish is sanded to an even thinner thickness than our standard instruments, allowing the natural qualities of the wood to shine.
Premium Waverly open-gear tuners offer exceptional tuning stability and smooth reliable operation with a vintage aesthetic.
Featuring an amber lacquer toner along with unique wood purflings, rosettes and bridge pins, T-Series models have classic appointments to match their distinctive tone.
Our new Traditional neck profile is based on our existing Vintage Now dimensions but adds a more distinct neck taper and rounded fingerboard edges for a played-in feel.
A combination of exacting PLEK machine leveling and hand fret dressing ensures consistently excellent playability and a silky fret feel.
Collings handmade cases are built in-house to the same exacting standards of craftsmanship as our instruments. In every way, this is a case that complements and adds to the experience of owning a fine Collings instrument, and will protect it with unparalleled style, ergonomics and grace.
